Rejoice!

Martin Luther wrote the song Nun freut euch, lieben Christen g’mein which was first published in 1524 in the Achtliederbuch. The song has contributed to the spread of the Protestant Reformation. Rejoice! starts with a fanfare derived from the first notes of the melody. After the opening the melody is heard accompanied by an lively counterpart. The piece concludes with a repetition of the opening fanfare.
